Early design notes for reliability overlays (SEQ/ACK/WINDOW) in the Digital Trust Layer.

DTL Windowing & Sequencing (Draft)

Exploration of adding optional reliability overlays (sequence numbers, acknowledgements, sliding windows) to DTL without compromising cryptographic binding.

Goals

  • Preserve per-packet identity & trust window semantics.
  • Enable ordered delivery for flows that need it (optional capability negotiation).
  • Avoid head-of-line blocking for unrelated trust spans.

Open Questions

  1. Do we negotiate window size via initial trust token or a capability frame?
  2. Hybrid PQ + classical signature impact on per-packet overhead when adding ACK traffic.
  3. Interaction with reflex-based throttling (window shrink on trust decay?).

This is an evolving draft; expect breaking edits.
